The Knitted Case is a cute little bag to hold knitting accessories such as, stitch holders yarn needles, point protectors, and more!

Skill Level: easy
Stitches Used: cast on, knit, purl, bind off, I-cord
Measures: 4″ long, 6″ wide
Gauge: in stockinette stitch, 16 stitches and 24 rows = 4″ by 4″

-Materials-

  • 1 skein Caron Simply Soft, country blue – 315 yds (100% acrylic)
  • 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver, tan – 364 yds (100% acrylic)
  • size 8 straight knitting needles
  • two size 8 double pointed needle (for I-cord)
  • one 3/4″ diameter button
  • thread to match the button
  • stitch hold
  • yarn needle

-Pattern-
front piece

  1. With straight needles and Simply Soft, cast on 25 stitches.
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till piece measures 3″.
  5. Knit 1, purl 1, to end.
  6. Repeat number 5 till piece measures 4″.
  7. Bind off.
  8. Weave in ends.

back piece

  1. With straight needles and Simply Soft, cast on 25 stitches.
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till piece measures 4″
  5. Change to Super Saver, knit 1 row.
  6. Knit 1, purl 1, to end.
  7. Repeat number 6 till piece measures 6″.
  8. Bind off 14 stitches in seed stitch, knit 1, purl 1, place these three stitches on a stitch holder, bind off in seed stitch to end.
  9. Place the stitches on the stitch holder onto a double pointed needle, join yarn from right side, and work I-cord for 5 rows.
  10. Bind off.
  11. From the back side of the flap, sew the I-cord in the 3rd stitch to the left. (this makes a button hole)
  12. Sew the button under the button hole.

Little Stay on Slippers

Little Stay on Slippers

These slippers are the child’s version of the ‘Stay on Slippers’. They are knitted in a beautiful cotton yarn with an easy crocheted edging for a snug fit.

Skill Level: easy
Stitches Used: cast on, bind off, knit, purl, decrease, ssk, single crochet, slip stitch
Aberrations: Slip Slip Knit (SSK) Knit Two Together (K2T)
Measures: 5″(6″,7″) long (Slipper should measures about 1″ shorter than foot length)
Gauge: in stockinette stitch, 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4″ by 4″
Notes: slipper comes in girl sizes small (medium, large)

-Materials-

  • 1 skein Pisgah Yarn and Dyeing Co. Inc Peaches ‘n’ Creme, pink lilacs – 98 yds (100% cotton)
  • 1 skein Pisgah Yarn and Dyeing Co. Inc Peches ‘n’ Creme, shocking pink – 122 yds (100% cotton) (about 5 yards of leftover yarn can be used instead)
  • set of four double pointed size 8 knitting needles
  • Size F crochet hook
  • row marker
  • yarn needle

-Pattern- (make 2)

  1. Cast on 20 (22, 24) stitches
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till piece measures 3″(3 1/2″ 4″)
  5. Knit one row, cast on 4 (6,8) stitches at the end of the row. (24 [28, 32] stitches)
  6. Place marker, join in round, knit till piece measures 4″(5″,6″).
  7. K2T, knit till there are 6 (8,9) stitches left, SSK, knit to end.
  8. Knit 1 row.
  9. Repeat numbers 7 and 8 till piece measures 5″(6″,7″)
  10. Bind off.
  11. Fold slipper in half, sew the cast on edge (heal) together.
  12. Sew the toe together.
  13. Weave in ends.
  14. With crochet hook and shocking pink yarn, work this pattern around the foot opening; *crochet 1 single crochet, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in the next stitch*, repeat from * to end, crochet a slip stitch in the the fist single crochet, fasten off.

Measures 7″ (8″, 9″) Note: slipper should measure about 1″ smaller than foot length
Gauge: in stockinette stitch, 16 stitches and 20 rows = 4″ by 4″
Notes: pattern comes woman’s sizes small (medium, large)

-Materials-

  • 1 skein TLC Baby Amore, orchid – 286 yds (80% acrylic, 20% nylon)
  • set of 4 size 8 double pointed needles
  • about 5 yards of elastic cord
  • Size F crochet hook
  • row maker
  • yarn needle

-Pattern- (make 2)

  1. Cast on 28 (30, 32) stitches.
  2. Working back and forth, knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till piece measures 4″.
  5. Knit across, cast on 6 (8, 10) stitches at the end of the row. (34 [38, 42] stitches)
  6. Divide stitches onto 3 double pointed needles, join in round, knit 2 (3, 4) rows.
  7. Decrease, knit till there are 8 (10, 12) stitches left, decrease, knit to end of row. (32 [36, 40] stitches
  8. Knit till piece measures 6″ (7″, 8″).
  9. Decrease, knit till there are 8 (10, 12) stitches left, decrease, knit to end of row.
  10. Knit 1 row.
  11. Repeat numbers 9 and 10 till piece measures 7″ (8″, 9″).
  12. Bind off.
  13. Sew the toe together.
  14. Fold the slipper in half and sew heal (cast on edge) together.
  15. With the crochet hook and elastic thread, work this pattern around the foot opening: *1 half double crochet, skip one stitch* repeat from * around. Work a slip stitch in the first half double crochet.

This cute little top is fast and easy to knit.  It is worked in the round from stitches picked up from the border, that is knitted lengthwise.

Measures: 13″ (14″, 15″) wide and 12″ (14″, 16″) long
Notes: pattern comes in girl sizes small, (medium, large). Measurements may seem small, but the top will stretch
Gauge: with larger knitting needles, in stockinette stitch, 14 stitches 19 and – rows = 4″ by 4″

  • 1 (2,3) skeins Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing Co., Inc, Peaches ‘n’ Creme, pink lilacs – 98 yds (100% cotton)

border

  1. With shocking pink yarn and size 9 knitting needles, cast on 8 (10, 12) stitches.
  2. Knit every row till piece measure 26″ (28″, 30″).
  3. Bind off.
  4. Sew cast on and bind off edges together.
  5. Weave in ends.

Top

  1. With pink lilacs yarn and 10.5 knitting needls, pick stitches along one side of the border you just knitted, 86 (93, 100) stitches.
  2. Knit till stockinette measures 8 1/2″(9 1/2″, 10 1/2″).
  3. Bind off.
  4. Weave in ends.

Top Border

  1. With shocking pink yarn and size 9 knitting needles, cast on 5 (7, 9) stitches.
  2. Knit till piece measures 3 1/2″ (4 1/2″, 5 1/2″)
  3. Knit across, cast on 23,(28, 33) stitches. (28, [30, 42] stitches)
  4. Knit 6 (8, 8) rows.
  5. Bind off 23, (28, 33) stitches, knit to end. (5, [7,9] stitches)
  6. Knit till piece measure 8″ (9″, 10″).
  7. Cast on 23, (28, 33) stitches, knit 6, (8, 8) rows. (28, [30, 42] stitches)
  8. Bind off 23, (28, 33) stitches, knit to end.
  9. Knit till piece measures 26″, (28″, 30″)
  10. Bind off.
  11. Sew bind off and cast on edges together.
  12. Weave in ends.
  13. Sew the top border onto the bind off edge of the top.
  14. Sew the straps onto the opposite side.

  1. Cast on 24 stitches.
  2. Knit 1, purl 1, to end.
  3. Repeat number 2 till piece measures 8 1/2″.
  4. Bind off.
  5. Weave in ends.
  6. Sew sides together.

Strap

  1. cast on 133 stitches.
  2. Bind off.
  3. Pull strap thought the muff and sew ends together.
  4. Weave in ends.
