Lace Belt and Headband

The Lace Belt and Headband are super fast to knit! It can  be worn the belt in the summer or as a scarf in the winter.

Skill level: easy
Stitches Used: cast on, knit, decrease, yarn over, bind off
Measures: belt: 4″ wide and 49″ long, headband: 15″ circumference
Abbreviation: yarn over (yo)
Gauge: in pattern, 9 stitches and 8 rows = 4″ by 4″

-Materials-

  • 1 skein Bernat Baby Coordinates, light purple – 431 yds (75.2% acrylic) (22.2% rayon) (2.6% nylon) or 1 skein James C. Brett Marble, pink – 240 yds (100% acrylic)
  • size 13 knitting needles yarn needle

-Pattern-

Belt/Scarf

  1. Cast on 9 stitches.
  2. Knit 1, yo, k2t, yo, k2t, yo, k2t, yo, k2t.
  3. Repeat number 2 till piece measures 49″. (or desired length)
  4. Bind off.
  5. Weave in ends.

Headband

  1. Cast on 7 stitches.
  2. Knit 1, yo, k2t, yo, k2t, yo, k2t.
  3. Repeat number 2 till piece measures 15″.
  4. Bind off.
  5. Sew the bind off and cast on edges together.
  6. Weave in ends.

Stitches used: cast on, knit, knitting with beads, increase (knit through the front and back), bind off
Measures: 12″ wide and 7″ long
Gauge: in knit stitch, 10 stitches and 8 rows in knit stitch = 4″ by 4″

-Materials-

  • 1 skein Yarn Bee Beguile, light pink – 75 yds (100% polyester)
  • size 15 knitting needles
  • yarn needle
  • about 370 shiny, light pink pony beads

-Pattern-

  1. Cast on 2 stitches, increase in both stitches.
  2. Increase, bring down a bead, increase.
  3. Increase, bring down a bead, knit 1, bring down a bead, increase.
  4. Keep on increasing on each edge and bringing down a bead every other stitch till piece measure 7″.
  5. Bind off.
  6. Weave in ends.
  7. Fold the wrap in half. Join the edges together. sew the next 3 stitches.

  • 1 skein Bernat Softee Chunky, bright green- 164 yds 3.5 oz (100% acrylic)
  • size 15 knitting needles
  • yarn needle

-Pattern-

Triangle

  1. With 2 strands of yarn cast on 2 stitches stitches
  2. Knit a increase in both stitches.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Knit a increase in the first stitch. Knit till there is 1 stitch left, increase.
  5. Repeat numbers 3 and 4 till piece measures 8″.
  6. Bind of in knit.
  7. Weave in ends.
Scarf (make 2)

  1. With 2 strands of yarn cast on 7 stitches.
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till pieces measures 21″.
  5. Bind of in knit.
  6. Weave in ends.
  7. Sew both scarf pieces onto the opposite side of the triangle.
  8. Weave in ends.

Fast and Easy Ribbon Headband

This headband is made out of a beautiful ribbon yarn on big needles. You can knit one of these up in no time!

Stitches used: cast on, knit, yarn over, decrease, bind off

Measures: 16″ long and 2″ wide
Gauge: in knit stitch 14 stitches and 5 rows = 4″ by 4″

-Materials-

  • 1 skein Caron Pizazz, dusk  – 28 yds (100% Nylon)
  • size 15 knitting needles
  • yarn needle

-Pattern-

  1. Cast on 7 stitches, knit 1 row.
  2. Knit 1, yo, decrease, yo, decrease, yo, decrease.
  3. Decrease, yo, decrease, yo, decrease, yo, knit 1.
  4. Repeat number 3 till piece measures 16″.
  5. Knit 1 row.
  6. Bind off in knit stitch. Weave in ends.
  7. Cut two 7″ long strips of ribbon yarn.
  8. Knot 1 strand onto the center of each end of the headband.

  • 1 skein Bernat Baby Coordinates, baby pink – 431 yds (75.2% acrylic) (22.2% Rayon) (2.6% nylon)
  • 1 skein Caron Simply Soft, soft pink – 315 yds (100% acrylic)
  • Size 9 knitting needles
  • Yarn needle
  • Metal pin (or 3/4″ button)

-Pattern-

Pinned Version

  1. With Homespun yarn, cast on 21 stitches.
  2. Work stockinette stitch for 10″.
  3. Bind off.
  4. Weave in ends.

Buttoned Version

  1. With Homespun yarn, cast on 21 stitch.
  2. Work stockinette stitch for 9 1/2″.
  3. Knit 9, k2t, yo, knit to end.
  4. Work stockinette stitch till piece measures 10″.
  5. Bind off.
  6. Weave in ends.

-Finishing-

  1. Fold the piece up 4″ sew bot sides.
  2. Weave in ends.
  3. Cut a 20″ strand out of each yarn.
  4. Holding the the 3 strands together and knot it onto both sides.
  5. Make three 1″ pom poms.
  6. Sew 1 pom pom on the bottom of each edge and in the middle of the purse.
  7. Pin the flap down. (or sew button under button hole)
