  • size 8 straight needles
  • size 8 double pointed needles
  • two 1 1/4″ diameter white button
  • yarn needle

-Pattern- (make 2)

  1. With straight needles, cast on 57 (61, 65) stitches.
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. K1, inc, knit 25, (27, 29), inc, k1, inc, knit 25, (27, 29), inc, k1. (61 [65, 69] stitches)
  5. Purl 1 row.
  6. K1, inc, knit 27, (29, 31), inc, k1, inc, knit 27 (29, 31), inc, k1. (65 [69, 73] stitches)
  7. Purl 1 row.
  8. K1, inc, knit 29, (31, 33), inc, k1, inc, knit 29 (31, 33), inc, k1. (69 [73, 77] stitches)
  9. Purl 1 row.
  10. Knit 1 row.
  11. Purl 1 row.
  12. Repeat numbers 10 and 11, 2 (3, 4) times.

  21. Bind off, sew together the bottom and the heal of each slipper.

-I-cord- (make 2)

  1. With double pointed needles, cast on 4 stitches.
  2. Work I-cord for 7 1/2″ (8″, 8 1/2″), or desired length, bind off.
  3. Sew both ends next to each other (making a loop) where desired, (2 1/2″, [3", 3 1/2"] to the left of the heal).
  4. Sew button underneath loop.
