Gauge: in stockinette stitch, 12 stitches and 16 rows = 4″ by 4″

  • 3 skeins Bernat Softee Chunky bright blue – 168 yards (100% acrylic)
  • 24″ circular size 11 knitting needles
  • 1 1/2 ” diameter blue button
  • Yarn needle

-Pattern-

Front

  1. Cast on 44 stitches, knit 1, Purl 1 to end. (ending in purl 1)
  2. Knit 1, Purl 1, to end.
  3. Repeat number 2 five times. (total of 6 rows of ribbing)
  4. Knit 1 row.
  5. Purl 1 row.
  6. Repeat numbers 4 and 5 till piece measures 10″.
  7. Decrease, knit till there are 2 stitches left, decrease. (42 stitches)
  8. Purl 1 row.
  9. Decrease, knit 18, bind off 6 stitches, knit 15, decrease.
  10. Purl 17, place the other 17 stitches on a stitch holder.
  11. Knit till there are 2 stitches left, decrease.
  12. Purl 1 row.
  13. Repeat numbers 11 and 12 till piece measures 12″.
  14. Purl 1 row.
  15. Knit 1 row.
  16. Repeat numbers 14 and 15 till piece measures 15″.
  17. Bind off in purl stitch.
  18. Place the stitches from the stitch holder back a the needle.
  19. Purl 1 row.
  20. Decrease, knit to end.
  21. Repeat till piece measures 12″.
  22. Purl 1 row.
  23. Knit 1 row.
  24. Repeat numbers 22 and 23 till piece measures 15″.
  25. Bind off in purl stitch.
  26. Weave in ends.

  7. Increase, knit till there is 1 stitch left increase.
  8. Purl 1 row.
  9. Repeat numbers 7 and 8 till piece measures 12″.
  10. Bind off in knit stitch.
  11. Weave in ends.
Assembly

  1. Using mattress stitch, sew up the front ad back till it begins to decrease, sew the next 2 stitches.
  2. Using mattress stitch, sew the each sleeve.
  3. Using mattress stitch, sew the sleeves onto the sweater.
  4. Weave in ends.
Hood

  1. Beginning on the right side of the neck opening bring up loop in every stitch across. (29 loops)
  2. knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat until piece measures 8″.
  5. Knit 12, knit 2 decreases, knit to end.
  6. Purl 13, purl 2 decreases, purl to end.
  7. Work 3 needle bind off across, ending with 1 extra stitch. bind off the extra stitch.
  8. Weave in ends.
  9. Bring up a stitch along the neck opening and the hood. (do not bring up a loop on the 3 needle bind off row)
  10. Knitting all the rows as you would with straight needles, knit 1, purl 1, to end. (ending in purl 1)
  11. Repeat number 10.
  12. knit 1, purl 1 till there are 3 stitches left, bind off the last 2 stitches that you made, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.
  13. knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, yo, *knit 1, purl 1* to end.
  14. Repeat number 10  two times. (total of 6 ribbing rows)
  15. bind off in purl stitch.
  16. Weave in ends.
Finishing

  1. Sew Button in place under the button hole.

  2. Knit a increase in both stitches.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Knit a increase in the first stitch. Knit till there is 1 stitch left, increase.
  5. Repeat numbers 3 and 4 till piece measures 8″.
  6. Bind of in knit.
  7. Weave in ends.
Scarf (make 2)

  1. With 2 strands of yarn cast on 7 stitches.
  2. Knit 1 row.
  3. Purl 1 row.
  4. Repeat numbers 2 and 3 till pieces measures 21″.
  5. Bind of in knit.
  6. Weave in ends.
  7. Sew both scarf pieces onto the opposite side of the triangle.

  1. Cast on 7 stitches, knit 1 row.
  2. Knit 1, yo, decrease, yo, decrease, yo, decrease.
  3. Decrease, yo, decrease, yo, decrease, yo, knit 1.
  4. Repeat number 3 till piece measures 16″.
  5. Knit 1 row.
  6. Bind off in knit stitch. Weave in ends.
  7. Cut two 7″ long strips of ribbon yarn.
  8. Knot 1 strand onto the center of each end of the headband.

  5. Bind off in knit stitch.
  6. Sew the cast on and the binds off edges together.

  • 1 skein Bernat Baby Coordinates, baby pink – 431 yds (75.2% acrylic) (22.2% Rayon) (2.6% nylon)
  • 1 skein Caron Simply Soft, soft pink – 315 yds (100% acrylic)
  • Size 9 knitting needles
  • Yarn needle
  • Metal pin (or 3/4″ button)

-Pattern-

Pinned Version

  1. With Homespun yarn, cast on 21 stitches.
  2. Work stockinette stitch for 10″.
  3. Bind off.
  4. Weave in ends.

Buttoned Version

  1. With Homespun yarn, cast on 21 stitch.
  2. Work stockinette stitch for 9 1/2″.
  3. Knit 9, k2t, yo, knit to end.
  4. Work stockinette stitch till piece measures 10″.
  5. Bind off.
  6. Weave in ends.

-Finishing-

  1. Fold the piece up 4″ sew bot sides.
  2. Weave in ends.
  3. Cut a 20″ strand out of each yarn.
  4. Holding the the 3 strands together and knot it onto both sides.
  5. Make three 1″ pom poms.
  6. Sew 1 pom pom on the bottom of each edge and in the middle of the purse.
  7. Pin the flap down. (or sew button under button hole)
